Last weekend saw the Guild of Photographers hold their annual awards dinner and although I didn't have a full year of competition entries (having only joined in April) I was delighted to be placed 3rd amongst fellow international photographers in the multi-genre category of Photographer of the Year, whilst also scooping 10th place in the Wedding Photographer of the Year and 9th place in the Open Photographer of the Year category.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Guild which has been in existence since 1988, is a highly respected photographic body dedicated to enhancing skills in the art, craft and profession of photography. It organises what is potentially the most demanding of annual photographic competitions. Photographers must submit several images a month for assessment over the course of a year, and only those with the highest combined scores at the end of the year are awarded the Guild’s coveted ‘Top 10’ Photographer Award!
Being a fully qualified member of the Guild, means I have achieved ‘Qualified’ status, which is aligned to standards of competence and understanding, thus reflecting a level where the customer should be ‘delighted with the results’ of a tradesman (the photographer in this case). In other words ‘Qualified’ indicates professional ‘competence’ to a level where the Guild is willing to recognise the photographer as an ambassador of the association. Most months I have enjoyed entering their monthly competition, where around 1000 images a month are submitted to The Guild with less than 10% achieving any award or recognition.

I'm completely overwhelmed by these awards. I was unable to attend the awards due to other photography commitments and hearing I had achieved these awards made me ecstatic. I would like to express my gratitude to The Guild but more importantly to all my clients as without them putting their faith in me to capture their special occasion and memories I wouldn't have images to submit.
Guild Director Steve Thirsk said ‘This is an incredible achievement! With nearly 10,000 images assessed from throughout the UK, Europe and further afield for Nicole Whyte to receive three Top Ten awards from the Guild is clear evidence of her consistently high standard of photographic skills. Nicole should be very proud of her outstanding achievement - I am not surprised her services are sought after as I can only applaud them!!Thanks to each and everyone of you who have supported me over the years...
Love
Nicole
